Salini staphylococcus broth
The salt broth is a liquid nutrient medium with a high concentration of sodium chloride. This concentration inhibits the growth of many microorganisms, but has no effect on staphylococci and provides them with excellent conditions for growth. The accumulation is carried out for 42 hours at 37°C. The degree of turbidity shows the efficiency of accumulation.
Enterococcus agar
Enterococcus selective agar allows to develop enterococci and to identify the reduction of TTX (triphenyltetrazolium chloride). The selective effect is achieved due to the presence of the sodium azide in the medium, which inhibits the growth of gram-negative and some gram-positive bacteria. Bacteria capable of reduction of TTX accumulate inside the cells Freemason which gives the colonies a red color. The cultivation is conducted at 37 ° C for 48 hours.
Erytrol agar
Erytrol agar is used for the production of Brucella. The medium is a nutrient medium which provides bacteria with all the necessary nutrients. In addition, thiamine and Eritrea act as a growth factor for Brucella. In laboratory practice, it is possible to add various antibiotics to provide the selective medium properties.
Salmonella shigella agar
S-S agar refers to Shigella-Salmonella agar. The nutrient medium is a foreign counterpart "Ploskirev baktoagar". The difference lies in the strong, sometimes complete, inhibition of concomitant microflora. In addition to SS-agar is not used iodine. The selective agents, in this case, are the bile, brilliant green, thiosulfate. The nutrient medium also reveals the fermentation of lactose by redness of the colonies and the development of hydrogen sulfide on blackening.
